1. Always use protective clothing when doing dishes to protect you from any hazardous chemicals that may be on the dishes. This includes the following: – laboratory coat – rubber apron – Nitrile gloves – safety glasses – dust mask
2. Dishwashing with Alcojet: Do not inhale the powder or get any on our skin or in your eyes. Consult the list by the dishwasher for dishes that must be hand washed.
3. Hand washing dishes: First, wash in Sparkleen then rinse in tap water, and last, rinse in distilled water. Put clean dishes on the white wire cart or the drying rack above the sink.
4. The floor area near the sink may be slippery when wet. Mop up or wipe up any standing water on the counters or floor when you are finished.
5. Beware of any broken glass. Throw broken dishes in the bucket labeled “broken glass.” Tell the supervisor about any broken equipment so that it can be replaced.
6. DO NOT have any electrical appliances near the sink area while washing the dishes.
7. Beware of hot water from the still. If you find that it is hot tell Laura Marek.
