What is RSS?

RSS stands for really simple syndication. A rss feed is a type of data file on the internet that is readable by a program called a newsreader or agragator that allows you to see when updates or additions have been added to your favorite sites with out having to visit each page.

How do I use RSS?

Some web browsers now handle rss feeds, for example the OS X browser Safari. If you do not have a browser that can do this another option is a standalone news reader like thinfeeder.

For more information see the FirstGov.gov definition of RSS or the BBC's RSS site
