Abstract:Morgan soyabean has the parentage Union X Miles. It belongs to maturity group IV and was released because of its superiority to other cultivars of similar maturity in seed yield, lodging resistance and visual seed quality score (demonstrated in trials in Maryland and elsewhere). Morgan has greater resistance than the standard, Sparks, to Phomopsis longicolla, Cercospora kikuchii and Septoria glycines. Agronomic and quality comparisons with Sparks are presented.
