Abstract:AC Brant is a 2600 crop heat unit soyabean (Glycine max) cultivar with good yield potential and moderate field tolerance to Phytophthora megasperma root rot. Originating from the cross between Maple Amber and Ozzie made in 1981, pedigree selection was carried out in the F2 and F3 generations for high yields, seed oil and seed protein levels. Maturing 3 days later than Maple Glen and 1 day earlier than OAC Scorpio and KG41, lodging resistance is greater than OAC Scorpio. Seed yield and protein levels are similar to Maple Glen and slightly higher than those of OAC Scorpio and KG41.
