Abstract:This indeterminate group IV maturity soyabean variety (PI593256), originating as an F4-derived line from the cross Burlison × Asgrow A3733, was released in 1995 because of its resistance to Phytophthora sojae races 1 and 7 (conferred by the genes Rps1b and Rps3) and its higher yields compared with cultivars of similar maturity. Cisne is best adapted to latitudes of 38 to 41°N. Compared with Spencer, Cisne averaged 2% higher for seed yield, 25 mg/seed higher for seed weight, 8 g/kg higher for seed protein concentration and 12 shorter in height.
