Abstract:A brief description is given of the soyabean (Glycine max) cultivar Athow (PI595296), which originated as an F4-derived from the cross A86-301024 × Resnik and was released in 1996. Athow is an indeterminate, maturity group III cultivar (relative maturity 2.3) suitable for production at US latitudes of 38-41°N. where maturity group III cultivars have been successfully grown. Seed yield of Athow was equal to that of Iroquois (3436 kg/ha) in the Uniform Soybean Tests Northern Region. Athow carries the Rps1-k allele conferring resistance to Phytophthora sojae races 1-11, 13-15, 17, 18, 21-24, 26, 36, 37 and 42-44.
