Abstract:	The leaf morphology of 10 soyabean genotypes resistant to, and 9 susceptible to, Epilachna varivestis, of maturity groups IV to VIII, was compared using electron microscopy. Greenhouse-cultivated genotypes varied with respect to epicuticular wax deposition. The resistant genotypes PI229358 and PI417124 lacked epicuticular wax or showed heavy deposition of fine textured wax, repectively. The susceptible genotype PI201428 had a coarse texture deposition. There was no evidence to relate these variations to E. varivestis resistance.
