Title:Allelic loci in Peking soybean conditioning resistance to Heterodera glycines races 3 & 5.
Authors:Rao-Arelli, A.P.
Source:Soybean Genet. Newsl. 1995, 22:170-172
Abstract:Information is tabulated on the range and mean number of white females of soyabean cyst nematode (SCN; Heterodera glycines) race 5 and the number of resistant vs. susceptible plants in the parental, F1 and F2 generations of crosses between Peking and Essex (resistant and susceptible to SCN, respectively), and in a set of differentials, artificially inoculated with SCN. F2 plants segregated close to a 3 resistant:61 susceptible ratio, the expected trihybrid ratio with one dominant and 2 recessive genes for resistance. A similar segregation ratio was previously reported in the same cross for resistance to SCN race 3.
