Abstract:Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] cultivars Cutler, Essex, Hill, York, Delmar, Wye, Shore and two advanced breeding lines, D67.3297 and ED73.371, were evaluated for leaf feeding resistance to corn earworm (Heliothis zea - Boddie). Larvae reared on resistant genotypes gained less weight and had extended larval periods. Shore and ED73.371 showed high levels of leaf feeding resistance to corn earworm. D67.3297 showed least antibiosis. Cultivars resistant to corn earworm should play an important role in an integrated pest management program.
