Abstract:Crosses were made among Arksoy, Dorman, York, Shore and CNS, each known to contain a single dominant gene for resistance, and F3 progenies of individual F2 plants were inoculated with the virus. Segregation was not observed in crosses among Arksoy, Dorman, York and Shore, and it is concluded that they contain the previously reported Rpv1 gene for resistance. Crosses of CNS with Dorman, Shore and York segregated for reaction to the virus, the data providing a good fit to the ratio expected from 2 dominant genes segregating independently. There was no linkage between the 2 dominant resistance genes, nor between them and the pubescence colour gene, T
