Abstract:Kershaw was derived from the cross Davis X Hale 3. It is a Maturity Group VI determinate cultivar and matures 3 days earlier than Davis, to which it is superior in seed retention ability. Kershaw is resistant to Xanthomonas phaseoli var. sojensis [X. campestris pv. glycines], Pseudomonas tabaci [P. syringae pv. tabaci] and Corynespora cassiicola. It was released as an early maturing cultivar for late planting and for use in double cropping systems.
