Abstract:Insecticide emulsions were tested for their effect on eggs and larvae of Oberea brevis on soyabeans in Madhya Pradesh, India. The following insecticides were applied to 44-day-old crop: 0.05% chlorpyrifos (Ruban 20 EC); 0.07% endosulfan (Thiodan 35 EC); 0.05% methomyl (Dunet 12.5 L); 0.04% monocrotophos (Nuvacron 36 WSC); 0.03% phosphamidan (Dimecron 85 SL); profenofos plus 0.05% cypermethrin (Polytrin C-44 EC), and 0.05% triazophos (Hostathion 40 EC). Triazophos gave the greatest egg mortality (80.00%) but did not control larvae. The greatest larval mortality (26.66%) was recorded with monocrotophos.
