Abstract:The reaction of different varieties of soyabeans to X. phaseoli var. sojense [X. axonopodis pv. phaseoli] was determined. In 1989, 91 varieties of soyabean were grown in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. Of these, 39 were totally free of the disease and 11 were resistant. A further 80 lines were tested using artificial inoculation. Varieties T-NGS-57.2, T-NGS-35.1, T-NGS-38.3, T-NGS-33.0, T-NGS-40.2, T-NGS-57.3, T-NGS-41.2, T-NGS-56.1, PK472 and Glycine 16 were all free of disease.
