Authors:Fassuliotis, G.
Source:Plant Dis. Rep. 1974, 58(11):1000-1002
Abstract:Of 16 plant species tested in the glasshouse for susceptibility to Hoplolaimus columbus, Cynodon dactylon, Triticum aestivum, Zea mays and Panicum miliaeceum proved excellent hosts, and Glycine max, Phaseolus lunatus, P. vulgaris and Citrullus lanatus good hosts, as indicated by the numbers of nematodes recovered from the soil and roots 3 months after inoculation. Field surveys at Holly Hill, South Carolina, USA, showed that H. columbus also develops on field corn and on 7 weed species, notably Crotalaria spectabilis and Vigna unguiculata.
