Abstract:Highest incidence of S. vesicarium leaf spot of soyabeans occurred at Alexandria and Kafr-El-Shiekh followed by Domiatta, Gharbia, Kalubia and El-Menia Governorates. Incidence increased with higher RH (> 55%) and temp. of 25-27°C favoured disease development. Highest incidence was obtained on 30-d-old plants sprayed with a spore suspension of 20 × 104 conidia/cc. Cultivars Williams and Forrest proved highly resistant, Cutler and Clark were the most susceptible and Lee 68, Harosoy and Caland were intermediate. Spraying with Topsin M [thiophanate-methyl] 4 times at 15 d intervals gave the best control and highest yields of dry seed.
