Title:Screening soybean germplasms for resistance to Obereopsis brevis (Swed.) and Ophiomyia phaseoli (Tryon)

Abstract:Fifty soybean germplasms were screened for resistance to the girdle beetle, Obereopsis brevis (Swed.) and stem fly, Ophiomyia phaseoli (Tryon) under natural infestation during kharif 1994. Three germplasm lines, namely, JS 80-21, P-1 (IS) and JS-335 exhibited the least susceptibility to girdle beetle and stem fly in particular brunt of monsoon season in 1994. These sources were not only less preferred by the girdle beetle and stem fly but they were high yielder also.
