Title:Reniform nematode resistance in soybeans

Abstract:Resistance to Rotylenchus reniformis was studied in 20 new breeding lines and cultivars of soyabean. lines were classed as resistant, 4 as moderately resistant and 9 as susceptible. All lines in the resistant and moderately resistant classes, and 4 in the susceptible, are also resistant to Heterodera glycines. It is suggested that separate but probably linked genes give resistance to the cyst and reniform nematodes. M.T.F.
