Title:Inheritance of soybean resistance to soybean mosaic virus

Abstract:OX615 (carrying resistance from Raiden) was resistant to all seven strains tested; L78-379 (with resistance from Williams, Rsv) was resistant to strains G1 to G6, but susceptible to two isolates of strain G7. These results suggested that resistance from Raiden involved a gene or allele other than Rsv. Analysis of data on resistance to G6, G7 and G7A from the parental, F1 and F2 generations of the cross OX670 (a resistant selection from OX615 X OX613) X L78-379 indicated two independent dominant genes for resistance. The symbol Rsv2 was assigned to the gene from Raiden
